Historic Market Hall offers a captivating blend of old-world Raleigh with modern design and exceptional culinary menus. You can host up to 400 guests for seated events and up to 700 guests for cocktail style events.

You will love our two large interconnected rooms, Park View and Market View. They are separated by a sliding wall for flexible configurations of two rooms or one large continuous space. Both are included with every venue rental!

Charming Outdoor
Event Space
Blake Street Patio is a covered haven running the length of our historic building and overlooking City Market’s charming cobblestone street. Space for up to 80 guests to enjoy fresh air, cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres. The patio is included with every venue rental and includes cocktail tables, string lights and gas heaters.
Street Closure Option: Elevate your experience by extending the patio onto Blake Street itself. For an additional fee, close the street to create a truly unique venue on the cobblestones. Set up bars, food stations, and more for an unforgettable event that captures the essence of downtown Raleigh.
Two Luxurious Private Suites
Our Park View Suite is approximately 1,000 sq ft and offers an original stone fireplace, hair and make-up stations, comfortable lounge areas, dress hooks, a dining area,a private restroom as well as floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Moore Square and framed by historic brick and exposed beams.
Our Market View Suite is approximately 1,000 square feet featuring a TV Lounge, foosball table, featuring private restroom and separate dining area, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking City Market and framed by historic brick and exposed beams.

What are the parking options for my guests?

How can I schedule a tour of Market Hall?
We would love to give you a tour of our historic venue and provide you with a custom proposal. Private tours are available by appointment only and are offered most every day. Please complete the inquiry form and a member of our Event Sales Team will connect with you shortly.
Is a wedding coordinator required for my event?
To ensure your day unfolds flawlessly, we require all wedding clients to secure one of our preferred planners to provide, at minimum, day of coordination services. This expert will
- Orchestrate your rehearsal, ceremony, and reception
- Craft a detailed timeline
- Finalize your floor plan (no later than 21 days before your wedding)
What are the requirements for vendors at Market Hall?
We will provide you with a well vetted list of event professionals from our Preferred Vendors List. Anyone not on this list may be considered if they submit their business credentials for approval. All Vendors working onsite must provide a Certificate of Insurance. For weddings, you must choose an experienced planner from our Required Planners List.
Do you allow outside catering?
Generally no, however, we may consider a licensed and insured caterer to provide cuisine our Culinary Team cannot prepare but you still must reach the food and beverage minimum for the date you are renting. You can do this through the beverage packages and/or anything from our in house catering menu.
How accessible is Market Hall?
Our venue offers seamless accessibility:
- Street-level entry with convenient loading zones on Parham and Wolfe Streets
- Fully accessible main level, including spacious restrooms
- VIP Suites accessible via stairs
We kindly remind guests to use the paved crosswalks and exercise caution on our charming cobblestone streets.
What is the payment structure for booking Market Hall?
To secure your date, we require a non-refundable reservation fee, along with a signed contract. The remaining balance is divided into three payments, with the final installment due 21 days before your event. All payments are non-refundable.
Is it possible to close the street for our event?
Absolutely! The cobblestone streets of City Market can be reserved for your exclusive use. This package includes:
- Official permits for street closure
- Removal of parked vehicles
- 200 white garden chairs (including setup and breakdown)
- Dedicated staff and security
